The clocks have turned back, and winter is starting to set in. With the sun setting before 5pm, it’s time to get home, draw the curtains and stay in. Thick, heavyweight curtains are great for keeping the warmth in this winter, and luxury fabrics like velvet and wool are a stylish way of doing it, but heavyweight curtains need curtain poles strong enough to support them. We’ve found three of our favourite curtain pole ranges for heavyweight curtains – and we’re sure you’ll love them, too!

Hand Crafted Castle Collection
This stunning range of curtain poles and finials is made here in the UK using traditional craft techniques, and our 50mm diameter pole sets are perfect for heavyweight curtains. Available in seven finishes including Antique Gold, Oak, Cotton and Pewter, there is a wide selection of finials, some with matching decorative holdbacks.
Pristine Extendable
At Loveless Cook Blinds, we love the 25-28mm Pristine Extendable range. The metal curtain poles can be extended to fit almost any windows, making them incredibly versatile. Coming in three different finishes – Antique Brass, Black and Satin Silver – we’ve also got a specially extended range of finials in stock. We’ve had the Ball, Cage and Crystal finials for a little while, but the Circles, Trophy and Trumpet designs are brand new to us, and only available in Satin Silver.
Poles Apart
The Poles Apart range is a huge mix and match range: simply pick your pole set, then your finials. There’s a wide selection of both. The Poles Apart premier bay pole kit is perfect for three-sided bays or L-shaped windows, with corner joints that mean it can fit angles up to 90 degrees. Coming in Antique Brass and Satin Silver, the bay pole kit works best with pencil pleat curtains, a classic choice. The range of holdback arms is compatible with any 28mm Poles Apart finial, meaning it’s easy to create a bespoke look.
These curtain pole ranges are perfect for heavyweight curtains – but we have many more options available. Take a look at our online catalogue to see what we have in store.
